Arkansas High School Had Two Valedictorians Because The Actual Valedictorian Was Black

An Arkansas high school appointed two valedictorians in their Class of 2011, because the student with the highest GPA was black. According to a lawsuit by 18-year-old Kymberly Wimberly (yes, her real name), she was told earlier this year she would be valedictorian of McGehee Secondary School in Pine Bluff, AR, thanks to her nearly-straight A grades, Honors and AP classes. But Wimberly’s mother is an employee at McGehee Secondary School and overheard talk in the copy room that school personnel were concerned that having a black valedictorian would cause “a big mess.” According to Court House News Service, the high school was “predominantly white and 46 percent African-American,” and the implication is that some white families would resent having the black student’s success. So, on graduation day, both Wimberly and a white student, who had the number two GPA at the school, were both honored as valedictorians. The number three-ranking student, also white, then became the salutatorian. When Wimberly’s mother tried to protest the principal’s decision at a school board meeting, she was told she had filled out the wrong forms and was not permitted to speak.

Seriously, people?

What's the point in having kids if you can't name them Lucifer?

Don't even think about naming your newborn "Lucifer" if you are a parent in New Zealand.

The devilish name has been effectively banned by the New Zealand names registrar after three sets of parents had the name denied, says The West Australian.

The Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages seems to be trying to curb a lifetime of inevitable taunting for the children of parents who wanted to rather than give them names, give them punctuation symbols like:

. (Full Stop), * (Asterisk) and / (presumably "Slash")

In the past two years there have been 102 rejected names, including Baron, Bishop, Duke, General, Judge, Justice, King, Knight and Mr, all deemed too similar to titles. Messiah also got the thumbs down. The number 89, and the letters, C, D, I and T saw the same fate, reports the Herald Sun.

Dakota Fanning, a day late and a dollar short

Dakota Fanning goes for pixie cut and I, I throw up in my mouth. Geez, she is so homely, what made her think she could pull off this hair cut? I'm sure she was inspired by Emma Watson (who can absolutely rock this look). I'm sorry to be rude but this girl is ugly. She was an ugly child actor and has grown into an ugly young woman.

ed note: I'm actually not sorry to be rude, this girl is probably a millionaire, who cares if she's ugly.

Penis Be Gone

A woman, identified as Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, is under arrest after police say she drugged her husband, cut off his penis and threw it into the garbage disposal. He is recovering and said to be "in good spirits" despite having he freaking penis chopped off by his freak wife!!! WTF?!?!

Investigators say the couple was married, but going through a divorce. The initial investigation determined that Becker made dinner for her husband. He told detectives that he thought there was something wrong with his food. He went to lie down and woke up tied to his bed. His wife then grabbed the victim's penis and cut it off. She called 911 and told responding officers that he "deserved it."

I wonder what he did?

Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Time to break out the pink bowties!

Starz's short-lived cult comedy series Party Down may be getting resurrected as a big-screen movie, according to co-creator and executive producer Rob Thomas. Thomas broke the news during a special Party Down reunion held this past weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse in Texas.

"People are talking to us about doing a Party Down movie, and we are pretty far down the deal-making process with that," Thomas told the crowd. "Ideally, if it works out, we could be shooting in television hiatus time next spring. So hopefully that deal will close, and we'll all tweet about it when it does."

Quote of the week goes to Zack Morris

What will you say to Becky the Duck if you encounter her in the afterlife?
“This is the place where the oil can’t hurt you.”

I loved him growing up. So, of course I just read his Maxim interview, and fell in love all over again.
